Identification method: Visual. Species is reported from this locality. This crystal habit is characteristic of Sphalerite.

Notes: The source of this specimen, the Ore Hill Mine in Warren, NH, was reclaimed by the forrest service/EPA within the past decade. The mine dumps have been covered over and replanted. This is a particularly large Sphalerite crystal by New Hampshire standards. The crystal was exposed by carefully removing the fractured surrounding quartz.
